De Flexibele Ambtenaar — “The Flexible Civil Servant” — is a Dutch secondment agency. We connect experienced professionals to interim assignments at municipalities, provinces, water authorities and national government organisations across the Netherlands.
Policy advisors, project managers, financial specialists and other experts, placed on interim assignments throughout Dutch government.
Our professionals are permanently employed by us. They combine the security of a permanent contract with the variety of interim assignments.
When a project or subsidy ends, we can take over the employment contract, so the professional keeps job security and the organisation keeps the knowledge.
De Flexibele Ambtenaar is based in Zeist, the Netherlands, and is the continuation of Het Publieke Domein. Government organisations use us as a flexible layer of experienced capacity: because our professionals are employed by us, clients get flexibility without the risks associated with self-employed contractors under Dutch labour law (Wet DBA).
Good to know: our assignments are with Dutch government organisations, so professional fluency in Dutch is required for nearly all roles. Our website, open assignments and blog are therefore in Dutch.
